The Gaziantep University is a state-of-the-art research university. It is situated in Gaziantep, Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey. It consists of 10 faculties, with a total of 22 academic departments. The Gaziantep University emphasizes a lot on the scientific and technological advancement.

As well all know that Gaziantep is a big industrial center of Turkey. The foundation of Gaziantep University was laid as a state university back in 1987. It began offering higher study programs in 1973 when the institute was extended with a campus of the Middle East Technical University. The main campus is located at Gaziantep, having extension campuses situated in the neighbouring cities.

The Objectives of University of Gaziantep

The objectives of the university are:

History and Profile of Gaziantep University

Established in 1973, the Department of Mechanical Engineering and in 1974, the Engineering Faculty, which became the basis of Gaziantep University. Its Engineering Faculty was founded in 1974. During 1977, the Department of Food Engineering was formed. In the same way, in 1981, the Department of Civil Engineering; in 1982, the Department of Engineering Physics were established.

The university became an independent state institution on 27 June 1987. It also has the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Education in Adıyaman, Vocational School of Higher Education in Kilis, Graduate Schools of Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, and Health Sciences and the State Conservatory of Turkish Music.

Currently, educational facilities are being provided in eight faculties, three higher schools, a conservatory, eight vocational schools of higher education, three graduate schools and five service departments. The university welcomes applications from students of over 100 countries worldwide.
