Ankara University is a public sector university of Ankara, Turkey’s capital. It is one of the higher education institutes established in the Turkish Republic.

History of Ankara University

The university was founded by Atatürk. Its School of Law was established in 1925, the Institute of Technology for Agriculture in 1933, the School of Language, History and Geography in 1935, and the School of Political Sciences in 1859.

The university comprises the Faculty of Law (1925), the Faculty of Language, History and Geography (1935), the Faculty of Science (1943), and the Faculty of Medicine (1945).

It was officially founded in 1946, and since then has continued its mission to provide high quality study facilities to both local and international students.

Facilities at Ankara University

Ankara University feels proud to offer top class educational facilities to both domestic and international students. It has a range of courses offered in English language. The purpose of these courses is not to create confusion for international students of learning Turkish language. This means, if you aren’t fluent in Turkish or any of the local languages, you just need to have firm grip over English to get admission at any of the Ankara University courses.

Apart from this, students are facilitated with scholarships, which are offered both on performance and need basis. To seek admission at Ankara University, you should have no third division throughout the academic background, otherwise admission will not be granted.
